Valleylab Brand Focus & History

Founded in 1967 as a medical products distributor, Valleylab focused on product development by designing, manufacturing and marketing advanced electrosurgery systems and accessories worldwide. In 1998, Valleylab was acquired by U.S. Surgical, which was acquired by Tyco International that same year. In 2007, Tyco Healthcare split from Tyco International and became the independent company Covidien. In 2011, the Energy-based devices and surgical devices divisions of Covidien merged to become the Surgical Solutions Group.

In late 2014 Coviden merged to become part of Medtronic.

Ongoing research and product development continues on what was formerly the Valleylab electrosurgical brand.
