The DRE Maxx Luxx LED Surgical Light is a green, environmentally friendly option that consumes about 50 percent less energy than similar halogen lighting.
LEDs are more efficient than halogen because they emit light in a specific direction, producing less heat in surgical settings and providing whiter, brighter light.
"Investing in LED medical lighting is a great way to maximize the longevity of your surgery lights and gain the benefits of newer technology," DRE Biomedical Engineer Matt Cameron said. "Halogen users who switch to LED will see a major decrease in electric consumption – about half of halogen lights, whiter more color-correct light output, very little heat from the beam or the light head and approximately 50,000 hours of use vs. an average of 1,500 hours of halogen bulb life."
The Maxx Luxx LED provides exceptional bright light with a lux output of more than 120,000 and a color temperature of 4,300° Kelvin while virtually eliminating heat. Rated for 50,000 hours of use, ownership costs and maintenance are much lower than halogen, where bulbs must be replaced annually.
