Critikon Dinamap Focus and History
GE Medical Systems Information Technologies acquired Critikon, a Tampa, Fla., provider of subacute patient monitoring and noninvasive blood pressure technologies in 2000.
Critikon, which was owned by Liberty Partners and a group of investors, now operates as GE Medical Systems Information Technologies and maintain its operations in the U.S. and Mexico.
At the time of the merger Critikon was a global player in non-invasive patient monitoring with it's DINAMAP brand. Its products included
connectivity software for patient information systems, PRO Series Dinamap patient monitors and the most complete blood pressure cuff line in the industry.
This was a great marriage with GE's advanced ECG algorthyms and ECG technology to create an advanced monitoring system that also had software connectivity capabilities.
The first efforts of the alliance allowed GE to integrate DINAMAP technology into its new Dash 3000 Pro patient monitor, which provides clinicians with faster, more reliable blood pressure measurements.
